NAHSAG Adopts a 5 year Policy Plan

NAHSAG at the just ended congress, adopted a 5 year policy plan which is aimed at directing the course of development of association towards achieving various set goals in the fifteenth year since the inception in 2005 thus by the year 2020.
This documents looked at areas including

·        Membership which aims at having all Postgraduate/Post basic health students as members of NAHSAG by the year 2020 among others.
·        Secretariat
For the effective coordination of all NAHSAG and efficient administration, permanent National Secretariat shall be establish in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.
·        Zonal NAHSAG creation and research centers
In the quest to decentralize as an association, six zones have been created;
o   Northern Zone (Northern, Upper East, Upper West Regions).
o   Eastern/Volta Zone (Eastern and Volta Regions).
o   Greater Accra Zone (Greater Accra Region).
o   Western/Central Zone (Central and Western Regions)
o   Ashanti Zone (Ashanti Region)
o   Brong Ahafo Zone (Brong Ahafo Region)
It is anticipated that, this move shall get NAHSAG closer to all it stakeholders and the good people of Ghana.
·        Logistics and Assets
Assets including but not limited to a website, medical equipment, electoral materials, Buses, hospital(s) will bought/established to help in the smooth running of the association in terms of outreaches and health screening, to generate income for the association among others.

·        Capacity building highlights the need to develop the capacity of health leaders throughout the country and as well groom members for future leadership responsibilities. Other areas included fundraising, Investment, Insurances policies among others.
