Order of the Volta: UHAS, Ho Wins NAHSAG Quiz Competition

Four member institutions of the National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) have fought fiercely in a three-round quiz competition organized by the National Health Students’ Association of Ghana (NAHSAG). This was part of activities scheduled for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the national group among others.

After series of bouts in the qualifying stages, the schools that made it into the final match were the College of Health, Kintampo (COHK), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and University of Cape Coast (UCC).

The event took place on the GTV 'What Do You Know', hosted by Dan Afari-Yeboah on Sunday, 2nd August 2015 and was telecast live on the national television.
Contestants were tested on areas of the profile of NAHSAG, and MDGs 4, 5, 6.

This feat comes as a success to the University of Health and Allied Sciences as one of the top, fast-growing tertiary institutions in the area of health training.

Studio audience and viewers all over the country were impresses with the dexterity with which the contestants Heyman Peter Eric and Isaac Naandiribe answered the questions to victory.

University of Cape Coast placed second, whiles College of Health ranked third, with KNUST trailing.

Face of NAHSAG: Top 3 Most Creative Contestants

Three prominent disciplines featured the just ended FACE OF NAHSAG Pageant. There was the Project Presentation, the Questions Session, and Talent Hunt that kept us on the edge of our seats all night long.

All seven contestants justified their inclusion, proving that they could pull amazing stunts to impress onlookers. Out of the seven, here are three people whose performance thrilled us the more and stole the Talent Hunt segment of the show.

3. Gloria Agyei

Campus Pageant Winner for Kintampo College of Health will be ranked third on this opinion poll for her entertaining and thought-provoking drama. Her act portrayed the effect of the belief system on health.

She excited the audience with her energizing display of how false prophets dupe people for money, in their quest for solutions to their problems. Gloria fused the display with humor that kept the audience yearning for more.

2. Wendy Amoako Konadu

We experienced hyperpyrexia from a scintillating dance performance of the Talent Hunt. Maybe that's what they call it 'Dance Fever'. Apparent winner of the pageant gave us just that.

It was a transitional dance that drove us back into time. Wendy thrilled the audience with a mixture of varying dances with different genres of Ghana music.

1. Monica Nunoo

Define 'Talented Acting' and contestant number 3 will pop-up. She was erudite!
She portrayed the unhealthy attitude of some nurses towards patients, with so much precision that she has earned the most talented pageant contestant without doubts.

In her performance, she abuses a Senior Nursing Officer who had disguised herself as a patient. The aftermath was a combination of humor and morale.

GUPS Joins NAHSAG In Their Anniversary Celebration

The Ghana Union of Professional Students celebrates celebrates the 10th Anniversary celebration with the National Health Students Association of Ghana; a sister union.

In a statement signed by the President, GUPS sends the following message:

Indeed, as the mass movement of Health Students in Ghana, NAHSAG has for the past decade given a united front to the many Health Institutions in the country.

As an advocate for our colleagues in the Health sector, the Association has succesfully negotiated for the welfare of its constituents on many occassions, notably with regards to allowances for trainees in our various Health Institutions.

NAHSAG, inter alia, also continues to remain a bulwark in the struggle towards Student Activism and the consolidation of the gains made in our fight towards making education accessible, convenient, prestigious and attractive for the Ghanaian youth.

Quite striking and heartwarming is the seeming harmony and fraternal peace that exist within the corridors of the largest body of Health Students in our country. This we believe is an important sine-qua- non for achieving organizational goals and NAHSAG will continually remain strong as far as this progressive unity is safeguarded.

On this auspicious occassion of her 10th Anniversary, we at GUPS reaffirm our committment towards ensuring that NAHSAG develops her potential as an Association which remains vibrant and resolute  in the pursuit of her agenda.

We are very sanguine that given the progress made by this relatively young Association, NAHSAG shall become a very formidable force in Student Activism in the coming years.

We are proud to externd  warmest fraternal greetings on behalf of the 18 Professional Institutions under our watch and in our own capacity as the National Secretariat.

We celebrate with you, ten years of safeguarding the interest of Health Students in Ghana.

We celebrate with you, ten years of meaningful contribution towards our collective struggle as Students of
 Ghana.

LONG LIVE NAHSAG!! LONG LIVE GUPS!! LONG LIVE THE STUDENTS FRATERNITY!!

Aluta Continua.

Goodwill Message from NUGS - NAHSAG AT 10

The National Union of Ghana Students is very happy that one of its blocs is  celebrating 10 years of imparting lives especially looking at the role that health education plays in the development of every country.

The National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) has contributed tremendously towards providing leadership and health education for the students of Ghana.

NUGS, its mother body is very happy to be associated with the 10th anniversary and wish to commend its leaders, past and present for working hard to bring the association this far. It is one thing having an association and it is another thing sustaining it and making its relevance felt.

It takes visionary leadership to constantly identify the needs of members and work towards meeting them, it has taken true leadership to come this far.

I will once again want to wish NAHSAG a happy 10th anniversary on my own behalf and that of all National Officers as well as the entire students of Ghana.
