‘NAHSAG Had to Battle With a Landlord Who Threatened a Legal Suit’ – Irene Nelly Osafo

The Official Commemoration of the NAHSAG @ 10 Anniversary Celebration saw a retrospective look into the old days of the association as participants deliberated on the way forward.

The session received presentations from representatives of the various year groups.

Among subjects opened by the 2009/10 year group was a legal suit almost put at the feet of the association in 2009.

In a presentation by Miss Irene Nelly Osafo,
the then General Secretary, she reveals that among other matters that militated against the 2000 year group such as the unimpressive enthusiasm of members, insufficient finances and what have you; one of most daring challenges was with the secretariat.

“We had to battle with a landlord who threatened a legal suit for default in rent payment for the associations’ secretariat”, she stated.

NAHSAG then ran a well-furnished office at Kaneshie in the Greater Accra Region until it was lost. This was under the leadership of Mr. Albert Evedzi as President.

Later, the executive committee relocated the secretariat to the office of the SRC President of the School of Hygiene in Korle-Bu, Accra.
